If neither of these solutions work, you may need to contact the support team for Dragon Professional Individual to see if they have any additional suggestions for resolving the compatibility issue with the latest version of Windows 11. How do I count the problems in Dragon Dictate 4.0 There are too many to mention. The scan may take some time to complete, but it could potentially fix the issue. This Mac version, however, is the worst software I have ever gotten from a major software company-and that goes back to the versions 1 of Microsoft Word on the Mac in the 1980s (a hideously bad and buggy piece of software). To run an SFC scan, open the Command Prompt in Windows and type "sfc /scannow" (without the quotes) and press Enter. However, you could try running a system file checker (SFC) scan in Windows to check for and repair any corrupted system files that may be causing the issue. Unfortunately, since you did not set a restore point before the update, it may not be possible to return to the previous version of Windows. If reinstalling Dragon Professional Individual does not resolve the issue, you may need to roll back the Windows update to a previous version. To do this, you can go to the Control Panel in Windows and select "Programs and Features," then find Dragon Professional Individual in the list of installed programs and select "Uninstall." After the software is uninstalled, you can then reinstall it from the original installation file or download a new copy from the Nuance website. One thing you can try is to uninstall and reinstall Dragon Professional Individual to see if that resolves the issue. It sounds like the update to Windows 11 Insider Preview 25281.1000 (rs_prerelease) may have caused compatibility issues with Dragon Professional Individual 15.61, resulting in the error messages and unstable behavior you are experiencing. I’d be more than happy to help you with your query Thank you for your question and reaching out. Screenshots of the 3 dialog boxes are below: If anyone has any ideas, they would be gratefully received! I didn't set a restore point for Windows and I have no idea if it's possible to go back to the way Windows was before 24 January. If I try to open a Dragon user, I get a further box saying that Dragon cannot access the profile because it is locked "by another windows login session", but there's only one Windows login session. I have to shut down windows and restart to quit Dragon. But it's impossible to close it because when I try I get another box saying "the user 'nospeaker' is not found'. From that time, Dragon opens but I get a box saying that it is unstable and needs to be closed and restarted. It all worked perfectly until I installed the OS update Windows 11 Insider Preview 25281.1000 (rs_prerelease) on 24 January 2023. MacBook Pro 16" with M1 Chip, Ventura OS 13.1 Both running Lion, and both with Dragon 2.5 upgrades.I have been running the various versions of Dragon Dictation Software for Windows virtually on a Mac since 2008 without any significant problems. Incidentally, I reproduced the problem very reliably (and unintentionally) on both my Macbook Air and my 3 year old iMac. I got bot-mail responses, so it's hard to tell if the engineers are aware of this problem. If you wish to continue using Dragon Dictate most effectively, we encourage you to maintain Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). We are currently investigating reports to discover and address the root cause of the issue. I've emailed Nuance about this, but they have pretty poor support. Dragon Dictate 2.5 customers may experience irregular software crashes when opening or running the software on the new Apple OS X Lion. And in the world of software battles, apparently a Lion trumps a Dragon. Maybe Lion treats the microphone as an associated "document" and wants to reopen it and then fights with Dragon. It seems like, if the Dragon program doesn't see the microphone that was attached to it when it quit, then it freaks out completely. I am pretty sure the problem is tied to OS X Lion's Restore feature. I've found the problem to occur with my Revolabs xTag microphone (USB wireless). But it had the effect of totally borking my Dragon program. When I got a phone call it lost the connection, which I thought would be no big deal. I upgraded and tried the iPhone app and it worked amazingly well for about 30 minutes. 32 Comments → Dragon Dictate 2.5 and my iPhone
